A Poem By Nile Flores
There is is, your prize.
It sits there gleaming and teeming with greed, in your eyes.
Go get it, and fawn over it.
Worship it, as it if was your very savior.
But what about those you have defeated?
Did you not civilly recognize their efforts?
Where was the diplomacy?
Where was the gratitude and graceful winner?
You say such cocky and lofty things,
while strutting about like a pompous peacock.
You think victory is just the part about winning?
Silly you! It is also about the losing too!
Such a shame that these words won't sink into your brain,
unless you are the defeated party on one unfortunate day.
There will always be sore losers,
but gracious winners are the real victors.
