The Empress of Words

January 20, 2002 by Nile

A Poem by Nile Flores

If you think you're quite the poet,
then you're wrong.
In the Land of Words,
there's an Empress.

She know everything,
and everyone.
You can battle your heart out,
and still come up short.

Her name is Loquacious.
Here hair ink black,
and her skin white like paper.
Her words flow like fine Bourbon.

Defeat is inevitable,
so just let her keep talking.
It can be frustrating with the Empress,
as she always has something to say.

None what she says is boring,
or ever a mistake.
Her perfection and keen mind,
can make you feel so utterly minuscule.

She knows all the ins and outs,
prepositions, alliterations, and more.
She can weave fine tall tales,
or conjure an impromptu poem.

She is a narcissist,
who just wants all of your attention.
Better bow to her,
she's the Empress of Words.
