If you have to make a resolution for 2020, at least make one of them about finding a moment every day to think about something positive, whether it be a memory, a passion of yours, having sex or masturbating, bubble bath or soak in the hot tub, a walk to smell the flowers and soak in some sun, meditation, a good relaxing smoke of weed or a good cigar, or that hobby you haven’t done in a while. Or in general, some self-care.
Put down the phone for it. Don’t look at Facebook. Get someone to watch your kids. Take time for yourself. If you must, then sometimes share this time with a friend.
Also, try making a call with a friends instead of text them. This lack of voice or face to face interaction, is squeezing the life out of some people. Sure, some people are introverted, but if you care enough about someone, you don’t mind a phone call every so often.
Just take a moment to yourself – that could be 10 minutes or even an hour or two. We are in an age where everything is moving so fast, that we often forget to have time for ourselves. I’m not talking about burying yourself in games, because often that is escaping from the things you need to do. Give yourself some relaxation.
Some of my friends, in the last year or two, have really started to drag whatever is going on with them, into my threads, that were suppose to encourage this. If you continue to do so, I will remove your comment and/or mute, or even remove you. I want to cheer you on, but I cannot do so, if you are being an asshole.
I totally understand because I know how it can be. I’ve been there. Times are tough and nobody has a perfect life, even if they use Snapchat or Instagram filters. However, in making a decision to put some effort, even a small one, we choose to improve ourselves, just a little. “Baby steps” can do wonders.
