Writing a passion of mine. That’s why blogging is easy for me. I’ve been writing for years and have even competed in young author’s program since elementary school. I even won, every year. I’ve had some poems published in various places and anthologies throughout the years. I haven’t become a published author yet, but I know that will happen some day soon.
The downside of being a writer- there aren’t enough minutes and hours in a day to write everything I want… and believe me, I have a lot of ideas. Occasionally, I will carry a small notebook to write my ideas or even write a poem. It doesn’t matter if it is for a blog post, or a story I’m writing, or even a story I’ve yet to write.
The allure of writing is to be able to delve into those areas I’ve dreamed about, but have not or will never experience. A long time ago, I had one incident of a writer’s block. It was due to the fact that I lacked the knowledge and experience to write and express certain emotions and situations.
I’d once read from somewhere that researching does wonders, but I was just a kid and somewhat stubborn. I’d not experienced real love, or sex. I had read about it and it was interesting. So, I put my pen aside for story writing and just continued to write poetry with the promise to myself I would endeavor to become more open-minded.
Thirteen hundred plus poems later, and nearly 10 years, I felt comfortable to get back into the saddle of story writing. In fact, I had experienced real love, sex, marriage, having a kid, and even divorce. I also traveled and visited places that not everyone gets a chance to experience. Because of these experiences, on top of striving to expand my own knowledge, I can describe my ideas as flowing freely and easily – “my cup runneth over”.
So when people come and say that I make blogging easy, it may have been. However, with time, it’s become even easier.
